The Long Term Care Finance Association (LTCFA) is a voluntary membership association of individuals within the long term health care industry. Individuals eligible for membership include any person who demonstrates an interest in long term care financial management including without limitation, facility administrators, financial officers, accountants and bookkeepers as well as government officials, attorneys, consultants and bankers.

Navigating the POSC System
  4 Session Dates: Oct. 16, 2014, Oct. 21, 2014, Nov. 13, 2014 & Nov. 17, 2014
Each program session is limited to 20 people.
Do you use the POSC to work your MassHealth Agings? If not, this session is for you.
Learn how to manage your Medicaid Agings by using the POSC on MMIS.
In this session you will learn:
how to transmit electronic claims in batches
how to check the status of claims within 24 hours of submission
how to correct errors online
how to enter Coordination of Benefits information
how to enter a claim directly into POSC
how to enter a coinsurance claim that failed to cross over into POSC
how to check on the eligibility, case mix and patient paid amount of any resident
This session is specifically designed for those providers who are not using MMIS and the POSC to manage their Medicaid Agings.

New QIO Contact Information:

  Dear Administrator:
  Beginning August 1, 2014, Livanta LLC (Livanta) will conduct all beneficiary quality review cases, appeals, and complaints for your state or territory. These changes are part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) program transformation effort. (Read more by clicking below.)

Increase in the number of Medical Leave of Absence Days:
  Dear Nursing Facility Provider:
  Effective September 1, 2014, the number of allowable Medical Leave of Absence Days, also known as Bed Hold Days, will increase to 20 days.
  Currently, per regulation 130 CMR 456.425, up to ten (10) Medical Leave of Absence (MLOA) days are allowed per an acute hospital stay. Effective September 1, 2014, up to 20 MLOA days will be allowed per an acute hospital stay.
  All other policy provisions consistent with regulation 130 CMR 456.400 will remain in effect. The payment rate for MLOA days will remain at $80.10 per day. A provider bulletin on this change in allowed MLOA days will be issued at a later date.
